Architectural blinds and office building with large windows are perfect match
Large windows? Does it get very hot inside in the summer? Do the sun’s rays obstruct the view of your computer or TV screen? Familiar, but not unsolvable. The DucoSlide LuxFrame XXL solar shading system can cope with heights of up to 6 metres. An application of this can be found in an office building in Ostend.
It’s impossible to be unhappy in the housing units of the social housing company Gelukkige Haard in Ostend. The same undoubtedly applies to the office building of this housing company. Employees benefit from a workplace with sustainable solutions. And from the DucoSlide LuxFrame XXL solar shading system that provides optimum protection from both heat and light.
Office building as response to construction challenges
One thing is certain: in 2020, buildings with thick insulation packages and large windows are indispensable. This also applies to this new-build project. Sara Casteur, director of ‘De Gelukkige Haard’: ‘We chose insulation material that is 18 cm thick. In our office building, we pursued energy neutrality. For example, heating is provided with heat pumps. It had to be and would be a modern and pleasant workplace. One that responds to the challenges we face today.’
Architectural blinds for large window surfaces
‘In the office there was the possibility of passive cooling with a maximum temperature difference of 3 degrees,’ Casteur continues. ‘But because of the large window surfaces this wasn’t efficient. We therefore decided to use DUCO’s XXL aluminium sliding panels. To keep out the sun’s heat and lower the temperature in the workspace. But also because this solar shading system forms a perfect match with the building.’
Exterior blinds for indoor comfort
To keep out the sunlight when it is least wanted, the Luxframe is equipped with Ellips 150 slats. These wing-shaped slats lie at an angle of 45° and are highly effective at keeping the heat out. They also allow the sunlight to be filtered in. This way you can combine XXL looks with an extra-comfortable interior.
Sara Casteur concludes: ‘I am absolutely satisfied! I only get praise for the integration of the solar shading system.’
