Perfect harmony between sun protection and shading at Aubry Papier in Tubize
The Tubize (Tubeke) company Aubry Papier, which specializes in selling, cutting and processing packaging and inliners for industrial use, decided to fit their façade with DucoSun Wing solar shading. The perforated, fin-shaped louvre blades provide perfect harmony between sun protection and shading and create a modern urban look.
Unique solution within acceptable budget
The reasons for cooperating with DUCO and covering the façade with DucoSun Wing solar shading were numerous. On the one hand, they wanted an affordable sun protection solution. On the other, the client wanted to achieve a unique design by creating an aesthetic effect that made the building unique in its entirety.
Steven Winderickx, architect at BOFA Architects explains: "We had already worked with this louvre blade profile from DUCO in the past and knew that we could develop it further subject to modifications to the punching openings. Moreover, our experience with DUCO on other construction sites was positive. They are always ready to work out a unique solution within acceptable budgets. "
"The perforations in the panels were preceded by a specific study in consultation with the subcontractor providing the louvre blades with openings. The larger openings were worked out in full-scale during this preliminary study. Via computer simulations and models, a proposal was then created and submitted."
Perfect harmony between shadow and light play
The DucoSun Wing louvre blades act as sun shading but at the same time also create spots of light inward. As a result, a unique effect between sun and shade plays out within the building. At the same time, the louvre blades also provide the necessary discretion. There is also a perfect symbiosis between the DucoSun Wing louvres blades and the rocky outcrop at the base of the building. This rock formation brutally reinforces the design of the round openings.
Smooth cooperation on a beautiful project
Steven Winderickx: "The enlarged punch holes not only create a beautiful play of light inside the building. At eye level, they also provide more vistas into the landscape. In that sense, this is a rather exclusive and unique louvre blade that enhances the modern look of the building. Moreover, the cooperation with all parties went very smoothly. And as icing on the cake, the building owner is very pleased with the result!"
