The Green is a new-build project in Nieuwpoort (Belgium), consisting of 153 apartments and underground car parks. To ensure that the future residents of this apartment complex can enjoy a healthy and comfortable indoor climate, the decision was made to implement demand-controlled Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery by DUCO. The new-build project was completed in August 2023.
The project is distinctly green in nature, it boasts a trendy style and offers the utmost living comfort. Greenery is given free rein with an amazingly beautiful courtyard as the icing on the cake. The building will be constructed using only sustainable materials and energy-efficient technology. With a score of S31/E40, the building also meets stringent energy performance requirements. And this is where the Veurne-based ventilation specialist plays a key role.
Mechanical ventilation with demand control
The implementation of the residential unit ventilation was carried out by DUCO with the DUCO comfort system. It consists of only ventilating the zones where and when needed. This provides substantial savings on energy bills.
Ventilation here is based on CO2 measurements in living spaces and humidity measurements in wet areas. Thanks to these precise measurements, stale air is extracted by the DucoBox Energy Comfort system in a timely manner to be replenished by fresh air through the DucoFlex ventilation ducts. Humidity measurement in bathrooms prevents moisture from accumulating in the area, potentially causing mould. Thanks to demand management, occupants need not do anything themselves, always being assured of a healthy and comfortable indoor climate whenever and wherever needed.
Built-in DucoFlex air duct system
The DucoFlex air duct system combined with the DucoBox Energy Comfort system offers a flexible and compact total package. Moreover, the DucoFlex air duct system achieves class D, the highest airtightness level as well as the least air resistance.
This results in extremely energy-efficient and quiet ventilation system operation. This enables occupants to enjoy smart ventilation and a healthy indoor climate in an oasis of green, The Future is Green!
